Classic Cars on the Road
Romeo St. Jacques Memorial CLASSIC CARS ON THE GREEN returns for its third year – with a twist! Due to the restrictions set out by the Health Authority, we are not able to run this year’s Classic Cars on the Green in its traditional manner. So this year we are being creative and taking the show on the road: join us for an epic Comox Valley Cruise on Saturday, July 25th!
Limited to 1970s or earlier AMERICAN MUSCLE CARS & TRADITIONAL HOT RODS & CUSTOMS up to the 1960s.
This will be an approximately 2 1/2 hour cruise starting and finishing at Crown Isle, passing through Comox, Cumberland and Courtenay. Staging areas will be set up in the Crown Isle community with 50 or fewer cars at each, with a set start time at 3:00pm to begin the convoy. Cruise past the Crown Isle entrance, where we will be broadcasting a livestream of the cars driving by. We’ve got a few more bonuses up our sleeves to make the day extra special along your route – please stay tuned or check back on our event page. Once the cars finish the route, return to Crown Isle for your complimentary to-go dinner to enjoy on our grounds or take away.
The cruise map will be sent out via social media and local advertising and on our website – including approximate pass-by times – and we hope to have a great turnout of spectators all along your route. Along with the livestream and car info we will also have a donate button on our website to continue the charitable tradition of the event in collecting funds for the Comox Valley Child Development Association. In 2019 we raised $3,577.20 – thank you to our participants, spectators and all our volunteers for making such a successful event.
We look forward to continuing the tradition of the Romeo St. Jacques Memorial for its third year with a twist. Although this year’s car show will look different due to the restrictions with Covid-19, this unique experience will be something we will all remember for years to come.
